Our Slumber Buddy and Pal - Pappy Bumbaugh

Grandma was in China for a good few weeks so pappy came to spend some overnight slumber parties with us!  We enjoyed having him and the kids loved getting up to donuts everyday! :)  We played games, hung out and just spent time passing time waiting for Grandma to come home.  Love these three guys right here.  :)

Mama Ava

Well, it is officially true. . .my daughter wants to be a mama.  She walked around all last Sunday with a baby stuffed up under her dress and pretending she was carrying a baby in her belly.  She would playfully and lovingly pat her little baby bump as she walked around and she asked if I wanted to take any pictures of her before she had the baby.  She must have remembered me taking pictures of aunt Bleppies before she had Roman.  So, of course I obliged and took some quick shots before she went and had the doctor "crack my belly open and take my baby out." Christian, with his NEW desire to be a doctor, graciously offered to do the whole thing for her. . .

Then moments after, we have our proud Mama.  She was so so proud and walked around like a peacock.  She asked if I would love to see her precious baby and I said, that I would def. love that. I held her and made all over her and Mama Ava was so proud.  She just mimicked the funniest things. . .anything she had seen family or friends of ours doing while pregnant and then as a new mom.  It was so dear and for a second, but ONLY a second, I got a small glimpse in my heart of what it might be like to be a Grandma and see your daughter loving on her daughter or son.  I have to say, I am absolutely sure I will love it almost as much if not more than the moment I first held my own babies.  I will embrace the Grandma stage with open arms. . .as long as she takes her time and does it all right. :)  Love this glimpse of how fun it will be, SOMEDAY FAR in the FUTURE!

Texts Succ. . . . .

Ava has really been watching people with phones.  She wants one, Now. . .and though we keep explaining that she doesn't need one and won't be getting one for a very long time, she is still very disgruntled about it.  She has, in the past few days, decided to borrow my phone and text her cousin REECE.  The conversations are very cute and funny and I think they both enjoy them very much.  I haven't asked Brianna yet if she laughs as hard as I do at them, but I am certain she does. Usually their texts talk about what time they woke up and what they are doing.  Then they turn into words like. . ."poop Ava" and then "pee Reece"  yup, they have fun.  I guess they are safe to have these conversations at this age at least. :)

So, Ava gets up this morning and decides she NEEDS to use my phone to text Reece and find out if he is going to church.  She doesn't NEED my help, as she so quickly reminds me, so she is on her own. She is working for quite a while on one text and I keep telling her to get ready for church.  Finally I come and read what she is writing.  It says something sweet about going to church and she hopes he can come too.  Then she pushes done and sends it.  I walk back into the room later and she looks so so sad. I asked her what it said and she just hands me the phone. I realize that she has texted to their land line and so the text bubble that came back, to respond and tell us that is was successfully sent to land line says "this message was succ. . . . " and then you have to go on to see the rest of the message.  She was so sad and finally I realized that she thought her aunt had written her back and said her message was SUCK.  hahahah.  I had to explain the whole thing, that she had accidentally sent it to the wrong number and not her cell number.  I am not sure she quite understands yet, but it does make me laugh every time I think of it.  Poor girl loves her aunt and she was so distraught in that little time that she thought her aunt, her biggest fan, had actually said her message was suck. hahahaha.  :)  LOVE my little Beaner.

Fun with Nate and Danielle

We did it again, our annual Decorating Eggs Date with Nate and Danielle.   They are so sweet to always come and enjoy this time with us and this is the greatest!  I love it.  Nate had an egg he kept dipping in colors and it ended up brownish.  :)  Danielle had an egg she decorated with Nate's name, hence he is the love of her life.  We had scribbles and stickers and glitter and lots of decorating fun.  Then there was the posing of eating the eggs we decorated before we took the shells off.  It was  fun and my kiddos loved every minute they had with these two!   Johnny IV had fun too!
Then the night got even cooler as Danielle pulled out the next idea.  She saw me post something on Pinterest about how I wanted to try something I had found.  She brought the supplies and surprised us all.  We had a glow party.  She brought decorated mason jars with the kids names on them and decorated on the outside.  Then we broke open glow sticks and dumped them and glitter on the inside of the jar.  Next we went outside and had a GLOW party with our awesome Glowing mason Jars and then the sparklers Danielle and Nate Brought.  I just adore this special couple!  They are awesome!

Easter Morning with Johnny IV

We had a little guy named Johnny stay with us from November 2013 to May 2014.  He was a funny quirky silly and very busy little guy and we loved him.  He had a spunk for life and was as curious as they come.  We had the Joy of celebrating Easter with him and he sure did love all the Easter candy.  The little bunny ears he was wearing were from his Grandmother and his candy came from all over the place.  The Agency gave us donations of candy and buckets for the kiddos and they even gave us stuff for our own kids. :)  Ava and Christian loved this of course too! :)

The Spring Concert that was Almost Snowed Out

We were not sure of whether or not Ava's Spring Concert would be cancelled.  It was scheduled in March 18th, but the day of the concert it started to snow.  Parents were calling in the entire day to find out if the concert would be cancelled.  The Music Teacher told me that she was planning to cancel the concert as of 3:35 that afternoon but we would be hearing for sure by phone.  However, the concert went on.  Lots of people did not attend but it was kind of funny to see all of the students dressed in winter attire and wearing their heavy coats.  Above is on our way to our concert and Ava in her coat and then Her and her friend Kylen from her class.  Below is Ava's class singing and performing. I am really glad they had it because she was devastated when she thought they were cancelling it. :(  She was so into her part and the motions and her words.  I love the one picture when she nonchalantly was trying to find us in the crowd. :) hahaha
The songs they sang were :  "Five Little Snowmen at My Door", "Jingle Bells", and one other song.  The songs were actually very fitting for the winter season. :)  So it worked out well.  Standing beside her are Kimberly and Kennzie, and Kylen. . behind her is Gianna, Morgan, and MaKenzie.

W-O-W

Christian got new socks the other night. He was so super excited about socks. :)  So when he wore a pair to bed, he woke up the next morning and only had one sock on.  When I asked him where his other sock was, he said, "I don't know, my bed must have lost it."  ahhahahha  They learn to transfer blame so quickly and at such a young age.

Christian was drawing on his board and Micah came into the room.  He had three things he had drawn on his board.  When Micah asked him what they were "A silly monkey, and this is a onion with really long legs, and a heart with a crack."  He really is doing better at the kid writing and the creativity of it all though.  Sometimes he will start to write a sentence on his board and then he will just, in mid sentence, start writing words he knows like "wow ava is did no" so the sentence might appear as follows: "I went to the wow ava did no is it."  It gives a glimpse into what goes on in that little random head thought process of his. :)  I try and help him to focus on making the sentence flow and make sense, but I still find it funny when I walk in and see his sentence and then you can see how he lost his train of thought so he just randomly writes words and sometime numbers in there too. :)

One day, Christian came home with his shirt backwards.  I asked why and he informed me that it was backwards day. I got to looking on facebook and saw that a friend of mine had a little girl in his class that came to school dressed completely backward and in fact it was backward day.  Christian is a tad bit of a follower and so before long he was in the bathroom, switching his shirt around, along with half the class.  The problem came the next week when he continued everyday to turn his shirt around and come home with it backwards.  I finally asked and he kept saying it was backwards day. I informed him it was only backwards day that past Friday and now it was regular day. :)  He argued, of course and now he was sure I was wrong.  I asked if ANYONE else turned their clothes around at school that day and he said "nope, just me!"  oh boy!!

Christian was having a conversation with me the dinner table one day and he said, "At Missouri, we are going to live there. I am moving there with my parents and my schmookies and my three kids. . .when I grow up."  I loved that he said his Schmookies, as though he is going to have that pet name for his wife someday. :)  He must have also been missing his Nana that day, as he was thinking of moving to Missouri with his parents. hahah

We have been working on Christian with his reading and we are supposed to be reading lots of books.  He get the personal pan pizzas from Pizza Hut if he reads every night. So one night, we were reading a book and I was having him attempt to read it to me.  It was a book a little above his normal reading level and so after awhile, he sighed and said, "This author did not do a good job with this book. . . .they are too hard words to read."
After Dr. Seuss' birthday was celebrated in school. . . Christian decided in the car, “mom, I now want to be a Dr. when I grow up.  . . .It will be so hard but I really want to be a Dr. Seuss.” I love his little mind.  Daddy told him that Dr. Seuss was not a real doctor, but was adamantly informed that, "oh yes, HE was!"  Okay, so we lost that battle. ;)

Last but least, in school they were taught to make the word WOW out of their hands and mouth.  Christian walked around doing this all year, at random and unexpected times.  It is our QUIET way of exclaiming excitement. :)  So, below I had him demonstrate so I will always have record of this sweet look on his face. :)

Captain Christian

Christian has always said he wanted to be a pilot, that is all he ever claims as his future profession.  So the other day he tells me, "mom, when I grow up and get a big belly, I want to be a pilot and a daddy and a married guy!"  hahaha, so I asked if he meant husband and he said, "yes, a husband!"  I told him they were all great goals in life and he would most def. excel in all three of those professions.  :)  Now we are speaking his Pilot Dream into existence as we constantly refer to him as "Captain Christian."

We are working on doing things on our own, Independence if you must.  He is doing pretty good with all of it, but today, he wanted to do his own hair.  He put far to much gel on it and then he flattened it against his head, and said, "mom, I want to look like my friends in school."  I am so amazed at when this all starts of wanting to be like those around us.  I decided he needs to be able to make his own decisions on some things, so I shut my mouth and smiled at him. :)  He looks cute either way anyway.  Funny thing to follow up with this little blurb is that I didn't realize that this specific day was spring picture day and the so his hair was "his own creation" on spring picture day.
