Julian's dad has been really gracious at allowing us to still remain a big part of his life, and to watch and experience his big milestones over the last 6 months. So we did get to celebrate his 1st birthday with him and his family. Jeremy invited us to Cluggy's for a celebration to be followed up with cake back at our house. When we arrived, Julian's Nana was there too and he got all of his presents from her while the rest of us were running around and playing games and hanging out together. The older kids had a blast together and Jeremy put Julian in the ball pit. He wasn't too sure what to think of the ball pit bu then, Jeremy said he thought it would be cool if I got in with him and sure enough, Julian loved that. He loved to chew on the balls and he couldn't really walk in the ball pit since he was so short. :)
Jeremy and Micah had fun posing for my constant photographs and then off to the batting cages they went! Haha. They look tough don't they? Then we started Julian in the tunnel and he was too scared to go through. Jeremy told me to pop my head in the other end and call to him, and as soon as Julian saw me, he couldn't get to me fast enough. He had a big ol' grin and was super excited about getting through that tunnel, leaving all previous fears behind him. Then Ava and Christian spent time crawling with him through the tunnels. :)
The kids had a blast playing the arcade games and winning tickets. Jansen won the most tickets and boy was he ever proud! I have a picture of him holding his famous final ticket count. The girls had fun playing games too. We even caught Jeremy being the bug exterminator. :)
Finally it was time to head back to our house for the singing and cake fun. I had made cupcakes for us adults but we made a small heart shaped small cake for Julian to dig into. We sang and he just looked at us as though he had no idea what was going on. Then it was time for him to dig in and he actually fell into the cake and icing. He was not too happy with that and the mess and he was a little sick, so he wasn't quite messy like we were anticipating. :) The other kids dug in though and ate up. The boys wrote and sang him a special song for his birthday and then we opened presents.
Julian's 1st Birthday was a ray of sunshine in a bad year. Thank you Jesus for this sweet special little boy and thank you for what you are doing in his life. :) He is the most beautiful little Baby J Ever. And thank you that he was not feeling well that night and wanted to be held by me and so Jeremy said he could stay with us over night. I got to LOVE on him and Hold him all night. :) The best end to a tough year. :)
